Some web hosts refer to it as "Unmetered" while others name it "Unlimited". No matter what you call it, there has been a shift towards hosting plans without defined diskspace or bandwidth limitations.
Our unlimited features, like unlimited storage, unlimited bandwidth, unlimited email accounts, etc means that when your website becomes popular you don't have to worry about these features having limits. We want our customers to be able to build and grow their websites without having to worry about disk space and bandwidth.
The real limitations are server memory and process usage!
To maintain stable server operation, all customers must use their hosting accounts in accordance with our Terms of Service (TOS) and Acceptable Use Policy (AUP). These policies are in place solely to ensure our customers have the best possible hosting experience, and to do that, we do need to ensure disk space and bandwidth are used in the regular operation of websites. For example, if your website isn't well optimized and is causing issues for others on the shared hosting plan by hogging up cpu or memory resources, you may be asked to upgrade to a dedicated server.
Only roughly .1% of customers ever fall outside what we consider normal usage. Typically, those that do fall in the atypical category are generally using their accounts for purposes that violate our AUP. Sites whose essential purpose is to use storage or bandwidth, like file sharing, a free porn site, video trading forum, or pirated software and movies, this unlimited hosting plan is not for you and a violation of this agreement. Please review our Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) to ensure your hosting a legitimate website.
It is important to remember that "unlimited" does not always indicate "oversold", so do not let anyone tell you otherwise! We monitor our servers constantly to ensure optimal operating performance.
